Ace Combat 8’s delayed update is scheduled for Nov. 2, with fixes for campaign missions that can stop progressing. Players stuck in those missions should be able to continue once the patch is installed.

Game*Spark says Bandai Namco rescheduled update 1.01.002 after postponing its Oct. 23 release. The patch is set to roll out in stages on Nov. 2 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. Ace Combat Online maintenance is planned for the same day, and its end may change.

The update targets several campaign blockers, including a Mission 10 problem after landing on the aircraft carrier and a Mission 30 target that cannot be destroyed. It also adjusts Ladon on ELITE difficulty and above, plus the flare limit for Shadow 22 and its wingmen.

Bandai Namco’s patch notes also list a Mission 13 fix: assigning the L key to camera controls in BUTTON MAPPING could stop a cinematic from progressing.

What we don’t know

The update and maintenance had not begun at the time of the announcement, so their completion is not yet confirmed. Bandai Namco has not named the specific system issue behind the delay.

That’s the whole story. Back to the main quest.
