Two outlets relay the 2027 announcement; the ESRB confirms Switch 2, but not the year.
HoYoverse announced that Petit Planet will come to Switch 2 in 2027, after its Dec. 4 launch on PC, iOS and Android. Switch 2 players will have to wait until 2027 to plant their Luca Seed; PC and mobile get a head start.
HoYoverse announced the Switch 2 version during a Nov. 1 program, according to GAME Watch. The outlet says it is expected to be HoYoverse’s first Switch 2 game. Players on PC, iOS and Android can start on Dec. 4; the Switch 2 version follows next year.
In Petit Planet, you plant a Luca Seed that grows into a Luca Arbor, changing your planet over time. You can visit Starsea Islets and the Galactic Bazaar. HoYoverse says regular play lets you unlock more than 1,000 pieces of clothing and furniture for free, according to Gematsu.
The ESRB already lists Nintendo Switch 2 alongside Windows PC. It rates Petit Planet E for Everyone and flags in-game purchases, including random items. So while the game is free-to-play, the rating makes clear that purchases are part of it.
What we don’t know
HoYoverse has not given an exact Switch 2 release date within 2027.
