PC Games reports the update and its final-major-update status; no Wube announcement was supplied.

Factorio 2.1 is available as the game’s last major update after about 14 years of development. It adds ways to move goods, but players with older factory plans should note a warning about possible problems.
Update 2.1 focuses on improvements, according to PC Games. Rockets can carry different kinds of items on one trip, and space platforms can now exchange goods directly. Wube Software has also changed the look of some machines and buildings.
The update may cause problems with older factory plans. Wube Software will continue to provide technical support after this final major update. The team is also working on other projects, though it has not announced a new game.
Steam lists Factorio as a single-player and multiplayer game with online co-op. Its regular store prices are $35 in the US, £30 in the UK, €32 in the EU and Mex$400 in Mexico.
What we don’t know
Wube Software has not given a schedule for future smaller updates or said which older factory plans may have problems with 2.1.
That’s the whole story. Back to the main quest.
